Membership Awards and Joining in Awards

Scout Badge



The Membership and Joining-In Awards signify that a Cub Scout has made their promise and has participated in the programme for a period of time.

 


They consist of:

The Moving on Award (Beaver Scout to Cub Scout)
The Cub Scout Membership Award
The Joining In Badges

Challenge Awards

Adventure Challenge


The Challenges complement the balanced programme. These have been developed to extend Scouts' skills and experience. The Challenges are optional, but are completed as part of our normal program.



The 9 Challenge Badges are:

Friendship Challenge *
Global Challenge*
Promise Challenge*
Outdoor Plus Challenge

Gold Chief Scout Award

Gold CA

The highest Award in the Scout Section, it is gained by completing all the Challenge awards marked above with a "*" and any 2 of the others. If a Scout has not quite completed the requirements for the top award before they move on to the Explorer Scout Unit, they may complete it in their early weeks in the Explorer Scout Unit

 

 

Activity Badges

Air

There are 69 Activity badges specially designed for the Cub Scout section, along with the six Staged badges.A number of Actvity Badges are sponsored by various companies and agencies, who provide resources to help young people to achieve the badge.

Staged Badges

Staged Nights Away

As well as the normal types of Activity badges there are what are called Staged Badges, where you can earn the next stage once you have completed the requirements. Some of the badges just require you to complete a number of activities to gain the next stage, like the Nights Away while others like the swimmers expect you to reach a particular standard before the next badge is issued. Additionally there are three awards to be completed in association with other sections in Scouting
